We are proud to announce the release of Amarok Linux KDE Plasma 5.24.5 which is the latest LTS version of this Desktop and this time it has even more Plasma Wayland improvements as well as many bug fixes. From the numbering, it can be concluded that this is the fifth maintenance update of the latest and greatest series of KDE Plasma 5.24 LTS desktop environments.
Added a fix for a KWin crash that could occur when the screen was locked. There is also a fix for various visual glitches when unlocking the screen. Also, it improves KWin's “Virtual Desktops” window rule to work as expected. Finally, we have a fix for a bug crashing SDL apps (eg games) when unplugging an external monitor.

On the other hand, this version of Amarok Linux has a stable base and with all the security that Debian provides, due to being based on Debian Bullseye 11.
The second desktop introduced to the portfolio was LXQt, in its latest version, 1.1.0, which brings many improvements, including the addition of xdg-desktop-portal-lxqt to LXQt as a backend implementation for xdg-desktop- portal. When installed, some non-Qt applications such as Firefox can be configured to use the LXQt file dialog. Also new is in relation to the LXQt file manager which now supports the DBus interface of the file manager, which is used by some applications (like Firefox and Chromium) that call the default file manager to show files inside folders or do others works. Also, the item “Recent files” is added to the File menu. As usual, issues are fixed and features improved.
LXQt 1.1.0 is in our Experimental repository and will soon be in the Stable repository.

- a fix for another bug that can crash the KWin window and compositing manager when a connected USB-C monitor wakes up from a power saving state;
a fix for another KWin crash bug that can occur when an application misbehaves;
